Venture down The Rock Mine with host Nic James as he shines a light on forgotten rock and metal tracks from the era that rocked the hardest, the 1980s. Expect to hear the unexpected tunes from some of the biggest names in rock and metal, like KISS, Dokken, RATT, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Megadeth, and Def Leppard, but also prepare to hear from plenty of bands that radio has largely forgotten or never fully appreciated, like Icon, Tyketto, Y&T, Killer Dwarfs, and Stone Fury.

Whether we’re playing a track from the biggest band or from the most obscure, our mission is clear - to Unearth the Rock and Metal Gems of the 80s and Beyond.

The Rock Mine radio show also works to discover new gems from artists that honor the sound, spirit, and legacy of rock and metal music. We're tired of hearing that rock is dead - there are tons of current bands that put their take on the iconic sound first created in the 80s. These artists deserve attention and exposure, which we guarantee they will receive. You could say we're a “hard rock” show at our core, but we simply refer to ourselves as a rock and metal show. We play gems that span the often difficult to define subcategories of rock and metal. Get a taste for what we’re all about by tuning in. The Rock Mine thrives off of interaction from our loyal listeners. We open a request phone line every show to hear from you, take your requests, and allow you to share your favorite tunes with the rest of the world.
